TECHNOLOGY

Complete Facility

CENTRIFUGAR's complete facility may receive materials from various origins, such as cleaning sludge from crude oil tanks, Slops, Diesel tanks, contaminated fuel oil, drilling mud, sludge, and others.

The goal of the complete facility is to have a wide range of oily or non-oily waste, with treatability conditions in the facility, with the basic premise of recovering and specifying the oil, making it commercial.

To deliver water to the treatment facility with TOG _< 1%, which means water that is relatively easy to treat.

Finally, generate a cake, which is the concentration of sediments, with the lowest possible percentage of water and oil.

CENTRIFUGAR also manufactures and operates facilities dedicated to a specific product, in case there is no need for a complete facility, reducing investment and operational costs.

PROCESSABLE VOLUMES

OIL EMULSIONS (OIL SLUDGE)

The largest facility manufactured by CENTRIFUGAR, can process up to 15 m³ per hour, and the flow rate is directly linked to the composition of the emulsion in question, which can severely affect this volume.

For smaller volumes we can manufacture machines in the size desired by the customer.
For larger facilities, the suggestion is to assemble the equipment in parallel.
- As an example we can cite a crude oil tank sludge that has 3% sediments 50% water and 47% oil, with this composition we will have an average flow of 12 m³/h, recovering and specifying up to 96% of the oil contained in the sludge.

PHASE SEPARATION RESULT

Recovered Oil - BS&W ≤ 2% (Average Percentage 1%)
Separate Water - Presence of Oils and Grease - TOG Maximum 1%
Densified cake - Composition varies according to particle size, oil density and existing sediments.

DRILLING MUD

The operational flow rate of the largest facility CENTRIFUGAR will vary depending on the percentage of dry solids in the sludge to be treated,

we can take as a basis a sludge with 10% of dry solids, with this composition the facility will be able to process up to 12m³/h in the case of oil-based sludge (synthetic) and up to 16m³/h with water-based sludge.

PHASE SEPARATION RESULTS :

Water-based sludge :
Densified sediments - Percentage of solids up to 70%.
Separated water - Presence of dry solids up to 0,3%.
Oil-based sludge :
Recovered oil - BS&W ≤ 2%.
Water TOG up to 1%.
Desified cake – About 35% Solids.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The centrifugation process is based on the density difference of the liquid components, the facility uses two types of centrifuges:

HORIZONTAL DECANTER CENTRIFUGE.

A CENTRIFUGAR machine, it generates around 2400 GS and its function is to remove the heaviest sediments, densifying them in the form of a "pie", so that the liquid phase reduces the percentage of suspended solids to a maximum of 2.5% SS and allows the process to continue.

For oil-free materials, the DECANTER does the job without the need for other processes.

CONTINUOUS EXTRACTION VERTICAL CENTRIFUGE

VEC 580 GII manufactured by CENTRIFUGAR generates 6000 GS, is a three-phase continuous separation machine, where the separated oil comes out specified with a maximum ≤ 2% BS&W, the water comes out with a maximum TOG of 1% and the sediments are carried away by the water in a third way out.

This machine can work with different types of emulsions with a flow rate of up to 15m³/h, which varies according to the material being processed. It doesn't work on its own, but is part of a  process and is the heart of it.

KNOW HOW

All the know-how of the process, as well as the machinery, has been nationalized and belongs to CENTRIFUGAR; a feature that brings the advantage of versatility in building as many units as necessary at a more affordable cost, without the need to import equipment, parts or specialized labor.
